Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” – Psalm 119:105

When you open your eyes, each morning how do you greet God? Having God into our day can have a major impact on it. Prayer is a discipline. It takes a determined effort to make prayer a habit! The Bible teaches us that prayer unleashes great power, comfort, wisdom, hope, blessing, joy and so much more. It is a wonderful way to start each and every day!

“This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” – Psalm 118:24

It is a reminder that each day is a gift from God… a fresh new day! It is a new day to look for all the good God is doing in our lives and celebrate God and all He does for us!

Jesus set the example for us. He would get up incredibly early in the morning, go to a quiet place where He would not be disturbed and spend time with His Father!

In His human nature, Jesus  knew that He could not face all the demands and trials of His day physically, and emotionally without first spending the very beginning of it with God! It was God’s power and presence that gave Jesus the power to do God’s will. We too can be powered by God!

If we are not spending time with God and in His Word, we are starting each day with a huge deficit! Prayer is food for our souls! But when we wake up and make God a priority, we power our day and start it with the right attitude!

Progress has been made fourfold as I was heavily collaborating with four churches with their deaf ministries remotely in last two years. Facebook Messenger is one of the biggest messaging platforms worldwide. Its chief competitor is WhatsApp, another service owned and operated by Facebook. One main motive for using Messenger is that it’s highly likely your family and friends are using it as well. Messenger is about more than just chatting with mates. It’s a powerful multi-purpose app. All collaborations with four churches were done via Facebook Messenger platform. Here is very brief report of each below.

Our national pastor John Gikaru Njoroge, Nyahururu Baptist Church, in Nyahururu has started re-establishing the influence in a small deaf community after a long period of no interpreter availability. Their new interpreter just completed her college studies and is now assisting the church to do the deaf outreach.

A Deaf pastor Ezekiel Odira, Bible Baptist Church in Nairobi who I met in 2016 has many difficulties supporting himself and his family and is facing eviction from his rented house as his rent is in arrears since January. He works as a street vendor selling high-quality ripe tomatoes and doesn’t receive the salary from his church. He recently received $100 from one of my pastor friends so he can buy the next batch of tomatoes to sell. I would like to visit him and give him some encouragement.

Liberty Bible Baptist Church in Kitale got my contact information from another pastor I worked with. He reached me out for my assistance with his deaf ministry he established four months prior to our contact. I provided consultation and had provided him with materials and tools to help him to work with deaf people in his area. Last February 7th, Pastor baptized seven young adult converts.

Habari Njema Baptist Church in Rhonda, has their church members learning Kenyan Sign Language and making several deaf contacts in their area. Twelve years old pastor’s son, Andrew sang hymns to his church in Kenyan Sign Language.

We made so much progress and it would be great to go visiting and see all the fruits. Last February IPM Director of Deaf Ministries wanted me to visit four churches to follow up and provide additional support to their ministries.

Prayer Requests:

  • For Salvation: for a deaf man I witnessed to recently who tossed Seven-Day Adventist beliefs out, few visitors who came for the Bible Study.
  • For increased support, new meetings, new opportunities.
  • Encourage churches to start a deaf ministry

Please select International Partnership Ministries Inc. your supported charity if you are shopping at the smile.amazon.com, AmazonSmile will make a donation to IPM. Thank you.

Thank you so much for all your support, whether financial, or through prayer and encouragement. Without you, this would not be possible. Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing.

Would you consider partnering with me to reach the Deaf for Christ?

Your partner in the Gospel,

James and Joy Campbell
